Welcome to the UK (North) Trainz Railway Simulator 2004 website!!

This website, along with our sister site covering the South of the country, will be bringing you the latest news and updates in the world of Trainz.

The aim is to keep you updated on all the new content, locomotives, rolling stock and routes that have a connection to the Northern realms of the UK. For steam buffs that means we'll be concentrating on the two companies which dominated the North, the LMS and the LNER.

Of course, we'll also be covering the modern image era from BR right through to today's post-nationalised companies, where pretty much every locomotive has worked in most parts of the country, at one time or another.

We'll be looking at existing content and also covering work in progress, and hopefully speaking to some of the creators about some of the projects they have planned.

In the near future we'll be bringing you details of shows in the area, where you can see Trainz being demonstrated, or maybe you'd like to volunteer to help out or even co-ordinate a show yourself!

We've got some exciting plans for the UK websites in future months and hope you'll visit us regularly and to find out what's new to keep your Trainz up to date with the latest content!

And if you haven't already got a copy of Trainz, don't worry, you can order online today and we'll have it shipped direct to your door!

As this is our first update, I should introduce myself. My name is Paul Franklin, and currently live in Scotland, though I'm a native of Yorkshire originally.

I've had an interest in railways since childhood, and Trainz has allowed me to build routes I only dreamed of and never could do with Hornby, Lima, Bachman and a piece of 6x4 chipboard!

My main interest in Trainz is creating routes, if you already have TRS you may have seen Rosworth Vale, which is one of my creations. I'm also a Beta Tester for Trainz, and have been involved in this since the first service packs for Trainz Community Edition.

When time permits you may see me demonstrating TRS2004 at shows with Trainz On The Road (TOTR). If not you can usually find me at the Trainz Forums under the name of ChileanLlama, hopefully passing on some of the knowledge I've gained since first diving into Trainz two years ago.

All the best
