Here we are with this week’s Auran d20 news…and we’re a day early! Why? Well, tomorrow is ANZAC Day, a national holiday during which we remember those who gave their lives in service of our country during various military conflicts. And, to be honest, it would just be downright un-Australian to be updating the news…Instead, we’ll be at the pub drinking beer, sharing war stories and playing two-up with the diggers. :) So, you get the news today.

As promised last week, today sees the unveiling of Jukka Kokelin’s competition-winning NPC Istvan Thuroczy, as illustrated by Bob Jones. You can get all the information about Istvan right on the Resources page and expect to see him in an Auran d20 Adventure very soon.

Due to the great response we received from last week’s Quicktime VR from Dark Awakenings: Guardian, we’ve decided to add another one. This time, you can take a virtual tour around the eerie and beautiful Chamber of Diamasin’s Star.

Don’t forget to drop by our online discussion forums to let us know what you think of our adventure modules and generally shoot the breeze with some of the unique characters who are fast becoming forum regulars.

18th April 2002

Thanks to everybody who entered the competition, the number and quality of entries was fantastic. Finally this week, we are happy to provide yet another useful tool for our ever-increasing audience. Visit the Dark Awakenings: Guardian page to download a Quicktime VR version of the Chapel from this module. This file will help you get a feel of what you can expect from Auran d20 modules.

Hello everybody we’re back again with another big news update.

First of all, another great review of Dark Awakenings: Guardian by Joseph Duis over at AtFantasy.com. Joseph has also been visiting our forums recently for a chat. Have you?

Some recent reviews of Dark Awakenings: Guardian have suggested that the ability to play it as a stand alone module would be a great idea. We agree. So, DMs can now visit the Download page or the Resources page to seek a new twist. A bit of an obvious warning though - this download does contain spoilers.

A couple of weeks ago we provided the downloadable character background for Taelarn Dorvinda. This week you can get the low-down on his brother Brell Dorvinda in the usual PDF format from the Resources page. Look forward to more characters in the coming weeks.

Finally this week, a competition. The Auran d20 team are offering you the chance to create a Non-Player Character (in line with our competition guidelines) to feature in an upcoming Auran d20 Adventure. In addition to having their character included in the module and on this website, the winner will receive a signed copy of Dark Awakenings: Shadowland and the module in which their character features. For more details visit the d20 Competition page.

28th February 2002
We’re back.

The maps are for use by DMs and follow the standard 5’ = 1” sq formula and will be included on the CD in future Auran d20 Adventure modules.

Also available for download this week is our Auran d20 Character Sheet. They’re also available in printable PDF format and provide a useful resource for any RPG fan. Don’t forget to let us know what you think in our d20 forum.

In this week’s d20 update we unveil a new section of our website. On the Production Notes page we will provide some of the background to the development of various Auran d20 modules and a few snippets of exclusive information.

Auran made front page news at EN World recently. It seems we are beginning to impress more and more people with our unique spin on adventure modules. Keep an eye out for upcoming reviews. In other news, Auran’s resident writer Keith Done was interviewed for RPG United.

Many people have commented that it would be nice to have a printed version of Shades of Gray. Remember all of our d20 Adventures come with a fully printed module as well as the CD-ROM. In fact, we pride ourselves on the production quality of our printed modules and look forward to hearing what you think.

Our first module, Dark Awakenings: Guardian is still available at the Auran d20 Shop and will be available in stores in the United States next month through Osseum.

Our forums have been growing gradually over the past month or so and we’ve had some really great feedback. Please feel free to stop by and let us know what you think about Auran d20 Adventures.

Since we provided the free download of Shades of Gray, we have received a number of really positive comments about the rich backgrounds and sensational art in our d20 Adventure modules. As so many of you seem keen to explore our worlds even further, we will be posting a number of additional ‘support’ articles on this site in the coming weeks.

To kick things off, Keith Done and Bob Jones have combined their talents to provide a closer look at a ‘standard’ party of adventurers who appear in a number of illustrations throughout our d20 publications. Visit the new Resources page for more details.

Also this week, we’ve updated the Shades of Gray download to include the numbered map that was missing the first time…Sorry about that.

If you liked Shades of Gray (and it seems many of you do), you will absolutely love Dark Awakenings: Guardian. As a full module, Dark Awakenings: Guardian features all of the great stuff you enjoyed in Shades of Gray plus a professionally printed adventure booklet, a CD-ROM with 3D scenes, ambient sounds and animations. You can purchase Dark Awakenings: Guardian at our online shop now.

As always, we’d love to know what you think of Auran d20 Adventures so please feel free to drop in and say hello on our d20 forum.

31st January 2002
It’s Thursday and we’re back with more news from the Auran d20 front. After the great response we had to last weeks download of Shades of Gray (which is still available by the way), we’ve decided to show you some more of Bob Jones’ fantastic artwork from Guardian. Visit the Downloads page for new wallpapers featuring his work.

Stayed tuned for more of Bob’s art in coming weeks as well as some new 3D scenes and desktop images. We also plan to write regular articles on our d20 pages and we will feature a piece on the poisons and drugs described in Shades of Gray that you can incorporate into your own campaigns.

Dark Awakenings: Guardian continues to arouse interest in the d20 arena and a number of review copies are making their way to staff at leading RPG websites and publications. You can order Dark Awakenings: Guardian online from our d20 shop now.

As always, if you have any questions about Auran d20 adventure modules or if you have any articles or artwork you would like us to consider for inclusion on the Auran d20 site, please log into our d20 forums for a chat.

25th January 2002
As promised last week, the free download of Shades of Gray is now available. The download includes a 82 page printable PDF file with additional color maps and screen shots of the original 3D scenes to give you a better idea of how an Auran d20 Adventure plays. Shades of Gray is a great prequel to the Dark Awakenings series (see below). For more information visit our new Shades of Gray page.

Shades of Gray has been completely revised from Keith Done’s Web of the Widow which was originally set in Hârn. We have altered some of the game play elements and key areas to better suit the d20 rule system and promote the spectacular 3D images and enhancements you can expect from future Auran modules.

The first of our fully featured d20 Adventure Modules, Dark Awakenings: Guardian can be purchased online from our d20 Shop right now. Thanks to our distribution partners Osseum, Dark Awakenings: Guardian will also be available in stores in North America in March.

Don’t forget to let us know what you think of the Auran d20 Adventures by logging on to our d20 forums. The Auran d20 Team are online regularly so feel free to have a chat while you’re there.

The big news for today is that Auran's first CD enhanced d20 Adventure Module Dark Awakenings: Guardian is now officially available for purchase from our Online Shop. The module includes an 84 page printed adventure (including 12 pages of full color maps) as well as a CD-Rom with animated 3D scenes, ambient sounds and other tools. For more information about this product visit our Dark Awakenings: Guardian page.

After months of story design and art direction, Auran’s third d20 Adventure Sanctuary is now nearing completion. A slight digression from our first two modules, Sanctuary is a somewhat dark tale that focuses on the age-old themes of revenge, evil and an ancient curse.

With only the final touches to go on Sanctuary our resident writer Keith Done has already begun work on our next module. At this stage Keith is keeping pretty tight-lipped about the story but he has been heard muttering peculiar utterances while he plugs away at the keyboard and he has also recently ordered the Psionics Handbook. You have been warned.

Don’t forget to come back next week for the free download of Shades of Gray so you can get an idea of how an Auran d20 Adventure plays. The download will include a fully playable (and printable) adventure module with additional color maps and enhanced 3D scenes.

In the meantime, please feel free to visit our forums and have a chat with other d20 fans as well as the Auran team.

As usual, if you have any questions about Auran d20 adventure modules please email helpdesk@auran.com.

11th January 2002
