Content Dispatcher Help File

  1. Click on File, New Package to ensure you start with a blank package.

  2. Click on Add Asset to add a new asset.

  3. A warning may appear saying "You have not entered your User ID, would you like to enter it now?". Click Yes.

  4. This brings up a dialogue box where you can enter your User ID and your Author Details. Your User ID is found by logging onto Planet Auran and going to "Your Content". You can also change your user details in Content Dispatcher by choosing "Options", "Change Author Details".

  5. Once these details are entered, you will see a list of all your content. To "qualify" as your content, the object must have your User ID in the configuration file. This is automatically entered when you save a layout or when you use Content Foundry to create the asset config file and associated files.

  6. Some content may show a yellow "Caution Error" icon. This generally means that the config file is missing certain information such as a category class or region code, or does not contain your User ID. You can resave a layout to automatically add these missing fields or manually update the config.txt file.

  7. Highlight the asset you wish to add to the package, then click "Add Asset". The asset will now show on the list of assets for "My Package", in the first window.

  8. Repeat to add additional assets.

  9. Once you have added all the assets for this package, click "Close".

  10. You will now see a list of all assets under "My Package".

  11. Double click on "No screenshot selected" and browse to select your screenshot.

  12. Click "Save Package" when you have completed adding screenshots and assets.

  13. Name your package and add any further details, then click OK.

  14. Select the filename and location on your computer to save the package to.

  15. Your package is ready to upload to the Download Station.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Each item in the package can be associated with a separate screenshot as modified by double clicking "No screenshot selected".
If you do not assign a screenshot to an item, the screenshot that is associated with the entire package is used.
You should also enter your User ID for Trainz by running EditKUID.exe from your Trainz drirectory. This will ensure all layouts are saved with your User ID. We suggest that you should resave all layouts after entering your ID.
