Operational Issues
FAQ Content No Sound and "RD" constantly displays in the controller status window.
FAQ Content With RailDriver Manager running, no train types appear in the lower cabmaker file box. It may also say "No controller detected" at the bottom of the window.
FAQ Content Error message "Unable to find PIBus.sys" when RailDriver Manager "play" button pressed.



Q. No Sound and "RD" constantly displays in the controller status window.
A.This is due to a USB problem, and has happened most commonly with Windows98 users who upgraded from Windows95 and their system never updated the USB system. The computer has an old version of the HIDUsb.sys driver, and you need to install the Win98 SE version, which you should be able to install from your system disk:

  1. In the Device Manager, expand "Human Interface Devices," select "USB Human Interface Device," and then click the Properties button.

  2. Select the "Driver" tab of the Properties dialog, and then click "Update Driver".

  3. Click "Next", select "Search for a better driver," and click "Next" again.

  4. Click "Specify a location", and browse to your Windows98 SE installation CD

  5. Finish the installation as normal.
 
Q. With RailDriver Manager running, no train types appear in the lower cabmaker file box. It may also say "No controller detected" at the bottom of the window.
A.This can be attributed to a USB issue, refreshing your USB Ports or carrying out the USB update as mentioned earlier should clear this.

If you are running the RailDriver through a Hub then you may need to refresh the Hub controller in Windows Device Manager.

This can also be achieved by re-plugging the Hub.
 
Q. Error message "Unable to find PIBus.sys" when RailDriver Manager "play" button pressed.
A.This is due to an incorrect installation and can be fixed by either running the RailDriver CD again or running the downloaded version of RailDrivers software again, paying particular attention to the reference to Pibus.sys/.cat mentioned in the “Installation Issues” section.
