Description:
40 Class 319/0s were converted to 319/4s. in 1997 to 1998. Conversion involved the installation of a first class compartment in one of the DTSOs, removing some seating from the centre of all vehicles to provide more standing room as well as refitting the interior to the Thameslink scheme. These were also repainted into the Thameslink navy and yellow colour scheme.

Upon First gaining the Thameslink franchise in 2006. First further refurbished the 319/4s by repainting the exterior into First Capital Connect 'Urban Lights' scheme as well as a few interior changes, such as replacing some seating with vertical luggage racks and adding vertical handrail stanchions.

In 2015 Govia won the Thameslink franchise. Some 319/4s have been repainted into their livery of white with blue doors (This is the condition this model is represented as) but some still retain the old FCC livery but with the FCC markings replaced with Thameslink logos. Thameslink are due to replace their 319s with Class 700s. The 319s will be cascaded to routes alsewhere.

In 2015 London Midland recieved 5 319/4s. These are used to operate peak hour services ouit of Euston and on the St Albans Abbey Branch.
