Description:
Canopy over Platform 2 - 3 of Aldershot Station. Based on a barrel roof design, common on the LSWR, for a more flexible spline version try: 393563:101419.

Aldershot Station was opened in 1870 along with the rest of the line from Pirbright Junction to Farnham. In the process connecting up the Alton, Farnham line with the mainline to London. Previously, passengers had to travel via Guildford and Tongham to get to Waterloo.

Aldershot Station had extensive connections with the military until recently, where many of the military operations have been transferred to Bulford and Andover. Since then Aldershot has now assumed the status of a London commuter suburban backwater, which is reflected in the services currently serving the station: 2tph to Waterloo, Alton, Guildford and Ascot.
