TrainzLand
Modula City Demo

Hi TrainzLand, Tell us a little bit about your group.

Hello everybody. TrainzLand currently is a group of five ambitious Fans of the Trainz franchise, from across Europe. Our members are located in Norway (Rainer/RFG), Germany (Roger/CAB), Austria (David/Marinus) and Hungary (G'bor/Vendel & Andr's/Sura).

TrainzLand started as a one man show when Roger started producing payware and freeware add-ons and utilities for Trainz, about three years ago. David joined TrainzLand during development of Modula City 2004, as script writer, about one year ago. In the course of time, Roger and David became friends and shared many ideas and resources for other TrainzLand Products. When Auran announced their Trainz Partnership Scheme we decided to apply. In the meantime we were glad to welcome G'bor and Andr's as route builders and Rainer as Beta Tester to our team.

Have you produced any content for any previous version of Trainz?

Yes, TrainzLand members have previously produced content as individuals and as group. One of our most popular products is Modula City 2004, which is also included as a restricted Demo Edition in TRS2006. TrainzLand also offers Fantastic Skies, a series of high quality sky textures, and with Trainz World Manager 2004 we can offer a highly professional Utility to support content creators, as well as people who want to have more control over their installed content. Other content produced by TrainzLand members is also available at Auran's Download Station.

What kind of content are you working on for inclusion in TRS2006?

Our inclusion to TRS2006 is a restricted Demo of Modula City 2004. Modula City 2004 is a highly detailed Urban Route, which features dense scenery, a light rail network across the whole town, from the beach to the city centre. We also include a two-segment articulated streetcar plus a route planning system. With our route planning system it is possible to create a real metropolitan transport network. You can create different lines, each having a different route across town. Later you assign a streetcar to a line, and it will drive the route you specified for this line.

How does the Full Version of Modula City 2004 perform in TRS2006?

While Modula City 2004 was developed under TRS2004 it will require modification to work with TRS2006. Making these modifications will also allow us to take advantage of new features found in TRS2006. Previous customers can purchase the Modula City update at the Trainzland website after the release of TRS2006. Prospective customers can be assured that the full version of Modula City will be fully compatible with TRS2006.

Where can a Trainz User go to check out your work?

Come to our website at www.trainzland.com or see our free content on the Auran Download Station.

Do any of the members have any previous experience making games (excluding making content for Trainz)

Yes, actually Roger has been involved in game production for some time now. In 1995 he was creating Quake Maps for ID Software, and later he's been involved in Beta testing different games.

Do you have anyone special that you would like to thank?

We'd like to thank Auran for creating this intriguing game that has entertained us - and also kept us busy ;-) ? for a few years now. Special thanks go to Rob Shaw who invited Roger 2002 to the beta testers group, what laid the foundation of our close relationship with Trainz and its successors.

Of course a huge THANK YOU goes to all the fellow content creators and community members who make Trainz the best Railroad Simulator ever!
