Interview with Graham Edelsten

Q. What's your role on Trainz?
A. I am the CEO of N3V Games Pty. Ltd. which was the publisher for the Auran Games Company that originally developed Trainz. N3V now handles both trainz development and sales and marketing of the Trainz range of rail simulators.

Q. What's the best thing about Trainz?
A. It has loads of game play and provides hours of creative enjoyment for its users.

Q. Where do you see Trainz and the Trainz Community going in the future?
A. The Trainz franchise is already 10 years old and I see only further growth in sight during the coming years. The Community is a group we have nurtured and (Despite some criticisms of our efforts at times) we are totally focussed on listening to their requests. We have just expanded our help desk and are trying hard to improve our service.

Q. What do you think people are going to enjoy most about Trainz Multiplayer?
A. Having multiplayer expands the user experience and allows for greater interaction amongst players. We are improving that new feature right now as a top priority.

Q. Do you have an interesting anecdote or funny story about Trainz development?
A. I think, of the many Trainz stories, the most fascinating is the fact that we came out with our first version of Trainz, head to head with that "small" company, Microsoft . Yet our little unknown and privately financed small Queensland Australia based company has reached out all over the world with our rail simulator technology. We have even gone mobile with our iPad Trainz and, today, launch My First TRAINZ Set on Android using the NVIDIA Tegra chip. This makes me very proud of our dev team.

Q. What do you like doing in your spare time?
A. Playing Trainz !!

Q. Whose idea was it for a 10th Anniversary edition?
A. It was mine and I am very grateful to those of our supporters who have preordered it. Shipments will commence on April 27 and it is a great collectors item for both our long term and new Trainz enthusiasts.
